Wychwood Heights BIA Mission Statement
The Wychwood Heights BIA (Business Improvement Area) is an organization of businesses and property owners who, with member and community input, are dedicated to working and advocating for the creation of a vibrant, commercially successful, physically improved neighbourhood main street with a distinct local image.
WHAT IS A BIA?
A Business Improvement Area (BIA) is a geographic area in a municipality composed of property owners and business operators. The Wychwood Heights Village BIA is managed by an appointed Board of Management of volunteers, the area Councillor, and community representatives.
A BIA allows local business people and property owners to join together to • improve, beautify and decorate the streets and buildings within the BIA • promote the area as a business and shopping area • recruit new businesses • host special events
The BIA is funded by the property owners through a special tax levy calculated proportionately for each property based on its assessed value.
